February's calendar journaling for the CALENDARGIRLZ RR...

'Afternoon everyone!
I was waiting on the birth of my grandson before completing my
final spread in this month's CJ. The that I have been working in this
month belongs to my daughter, Tessa. So I had to create a spread about
the arrival of her first nephew, Braiden. Also, I created a spread using some
lyrics to one of her favourite songs, & another spread about an Abyssinian cat I
rescued from being put down for now good reason. Tiggs has attached
himself to Tessa. He is doing very well and is a happy boy!A few years
back, Tessa participated in a CALENDARGIRLZ round robin, & she
decided to join in on the fun once again. I've really enjoyed
playing in her journal, & I am so thrilled that Tess joined
up again! Above are the spreads I created.

Announcing the arrival...

A healthy baby boy, Braiden James was welcomed into our family February 22nd at 5:24pm, weighing in at 6lbs, 9 ozs. He is my son's first born, and my first grandson. I am so thrilled for my son Jesse and his wife Amie. And of course, I am a very happy and proud Yaya! Isn't he just beautiful!?!

Creature Comforts

Today it is all about creature comforts....a hot cup of tea, my personal art journal, and my beloved furry family. 2009 could become a little stressful for me. I needed to take a time out from the worries in life and surround myself with blissful things. Something I must be sure to do throughout the coming months. Above are some photos of entries I've made in my journal, and my cats caught catnapping in the afternoon sun.

MY NEW NEIGHBOUR: A RED-TAILED HAWK!

Just this afternoon I could hear a squirrel out back
kicking up quite a fuss. So I had a look out one of my
upstairs windows to see if I could notice why it was making
such a noise. At the very top of the pine tree was a gorgeous
red-tailed hawk. Hawks don't normally venture this close to
civilization around here. So, I had to run for my camera to
catch a photo of him. The pictures aren't that clear,
but you can see him high up in the pine, scouting
the area. So the sound I was hearing was
not that of a squirrel, but the hawk!

My little clown...

This "little" cat is my in-house clown. She does
the funniest things, like, hangs by all fours from a
big stuffed animal fish that I have suspended in my
art room doorway. She is unbelievably affectionate,
and, as you can see, she sits in the most peculiar
positions! She's always making me laugh. Even her
expression is comical! lol For such a big girl, she
is highly active and the most playful of my cats.
She is my precious, my "Angel Pudding".

Personal Journal Prompts

Hello all!
Above is my first try at "personal
journal prompts". Over at CALENDARGIRLZ
each month, one of the group members posts
journal prompts for each week of the month. In
my spread posted above, I have combined the prompts
"red, black and gold" and the letter "Q" with a
winter comforts theme. I had fun playing with
these prompts and putting them together!
