Working in my personal art journal, with a little bit of help...

A fitting first spread above, along with a photo of my assistant, yes, it is her, "The Madam Pudding"! She loves putting her two paws worth into any of the work I do in my personal art journal. After a long period of deliberation, "we" decided upon the image of the little nymph playing in the flowers. After a good long perusing of my art journaling materials, she has now settled in for a wee catnap on my bed amid the scattering of supplies.

Found Works....

Well, not really. "Found Works from the Lost Libraries of Grey Matter" is actually my new "reclaimed journal". I've taken an old ledger-style journal of mine, removed all the finished spreads and added them to another ledger. Left was an empty ledger to begin playing with. So far I have completed the cover, pictured above. What was a really neat find for this journal, was a ribbon that says "survivor" on it, which holds the journal together...so the journal was not lost, it survived! lol

Now that my computer is running smooth and fast, and with out shutting down on me a billion times a day, I am able to upload pics of the pages I have been creating in my personal art journal. Here are a few of the latest spreads I've completed. So far my journal seems to be a collection of art journaling pages, and my Papermonzsters I've given character to.

SHE WISHES

After a far too long creative slump, I have finally broken through and created some work in one of my personal journals. The page above is one that I have completed. I have a few more that I am currently in the process of completing. It's been a while since I have created one of my whimsical papermonzsters like the one above. Why I call them "papermonzsters" is because they have wings and fins, so they can both fly the heavens and swim to the deepest depths of the ocean. I feel so free and easy when creating them, and find that they give me a sense of quiet serenity. So, I really should be creating these little female beings more often.

Personal Journal Prompt: Fave childhood story...

Every month in the Calendargirlz a different group member posts weekly personal journal prompts. It's Toni's turn for the month of April. One of her journal prompts is "your favourite childhood story". Being that I was an only child, surrounded by many adults, boy, I lived in Alice's Wonderland! I'm sure that's where my vast imagination got started, and my love of cats! I adored the Cheshire Cat, and have a cat that resembles him. lol Above is a spread I created for this personal journal prompt.

Operiaa Sigh & The Books of Odd

Hi again all! Other things that I have been working on these past few months are additional volumes to go with my first "Book of Odd". Volume #1 would no longer lay flat when fully open. lol Above is a photo of volumes 2, 3 & 4. I still have to post a pic of book 5, my skinny version of The Book of Odd.

So the top photo is of a spread I created in book #2. I created a fictional character from the distant planet Electra, a twin planet of Earth. The name of my character is "Operiaa Sigh". And, of course she sings opera! With a name like that, she should! lol When Operiaa sings to someone, she can unlock their past lives and tell them their full life story. Earthlings find her quite enchanting!
