Hearts for Karen....

Here are my last two spreads in Karen's calendar journal.
Karen loves hearts, so I just had to create spreads
with heart themes for her.

Earth Hour

This is my latest spread in Karen's calendar journal.
I've honored Earth Hour. To do my bit for Earth
Hour, I turned off everything in the house and
went for a long walk with my rottweiler Sophia.
On our walk I came up with ideas for this spread,
then went to work on it when we got home.

The Yin Yang Sisters....
This is how I found Angel and Meesha celebrating their first birthday today. Quite fittingly, catnapping! I guess that is one way to spend a birthday!! lol

Above is my first try at giving bubble wrap and sequin waste a go as part of a background. I decided to flip through a magazine and the first photo I didn't like I used for my first attempt at these background techniques. This is the finished result, and I happen to quite like it too! I created another one of my "Windows to the Soul" spreads. (Girl Talk)

QUIET GREY

I've been spending my day in my bedroom on my big sprawling bed amongst my art journals, my cat Meesha, and dog Sophia. It's a quiet day, and a grey rainy day, which suits my mood. Observing a few things, I hear the music coming from downstairs, where my son is redecorating my living room and dining room for me, in 'raging sea' grey. The lyrics that I hear floating up the stairs are 'It's always raining in my head.' A song called 'Epiphany' by 'Staind'. I notice too, that I am wearing grey. I guess now I know the theme of my art journal pages I'm going to be playing around with while I spend my day in quiet solitude.

CELTIC GOTHIC ARCH

CELTIC FAIRY
The theme this week at Gothic Arches is
Celtic. This is the arch I've created for it.

Saturday, March 15, 2008

It has been quite some time since I took part in the
Gothic Arches weekly theme, and I've missed it.
This week Karen O had the honor of picking a theme,
which is 'Transitions'. Above is the gothic arch I
created for the theme. Daylight, to twilight, to night.
I used the quote "Twilight drops her curtain down
and pins it with a star" to complete the arch.

ANGEL, MEESHA & MOODY

More cat pictures...
I couldn't resist snapping these photos last night as the cats were sleeping peacefully in this basket. My mother just recently bought me the basket to hold my art papers, but it was snagged by the cats almost immediately! lol The top picture if of Angel and Meesha cuddling together...notice the 'four' paws all entwined? That's their front paws wrapped around each others. How simply adorable!
The bottom two pictures are of when 'Moody' my siamese realized that the kittens were in the basket. Seeing that he is always seeking out a heat source, he took complete advantage of the situation! lol Boy, cats sure know how to chill out, don't they?

ANGEL & MEESHA

New pics of the kittens!
In two weeks time it will be their first birthday. They have certainly grown, especially 'Angel', the kitten that is mostly white. Just look at the pear-shape she has become! lol 'Meesha' isn't quite as chunky. They were chubby kittens to begin with. So, I guess it's in their genes! The funny thing is, I nicknamed Angel, 'Angel Pudding' right from the start! lol They really have wonderful personalities. Such playful, affectionate and cuddly 'little' girls. :)
