Skyla's Art Box....

Tomorrow my granddaughter turns 5 years old. As she puts it, she loves to do lots of "arting"! I couldn't believe my ears, and smiled to myself when I heard her use the term! So, as part of her birthday gift, I made her this art box to put some of her art supplies in. Inside the box, on the lid is a photo of Sky and me, and on the bottom, is one of my "papermonzsters". She has become quite familiar with her "Yaya's" papermonzsters, and has one on her bedroom wall to scare away any bad dreams!

After painting this picture a few months
back, these words came to mind to use
with it. So I added them using
photoshop. Basically, this is how I
feel all the days of my life.

Happy weekend everyone! I am in the midst of creating a blog that will host weekly prompts. It is titled THE ALTERED HEART. And of course, every week we will be using a heart shape as our canvas, or we can incorporate a heart shape on our pages. I hope that you will join me in this fun form to keep us inspired!
In the left hand column, under 'Challenge Your Creativity', you will find an icon (like the pic above) that will link you to the THE ALTERED HEART. But stay tuned...I will announce here on my blog when THE ALTERED HEART is up and ready for anyone who would like to alter hearts along with me! Warm hugs! Vale :)

This piece is my entry for the June lottery at our Diva group. The theme was *At the Beach* chosen by last month's lottery winner, Sandee. I had a lot of fun using my imagination on this project! And again I have added one of my papermonzsters to create a playful and whimsical atmosphere to Tallulah's little story.

SOUL SANITY

All day yesterday all I could think about was how my artwork saves my sanity. So, last night I got out my paints and sat down to my drafting table and just started to paint. This image is what I came up with, so far. When I get some more time to myself when I'm off work, I plan on adding some words and designs to the page. Creating art is my soul's sanity.

A CALENDAR JOURNAL FOR MY DAUGHTER KATE...
My daughters Tess & Kate have two friends that saw the calendar journals I got back home from various calendar journal round robins I've participated in, and they fell in love with them. So I offered to start one for the both of them. My daughter Kate mentioned to me on the weekend how much she would like a calendar journal from me as well. So, over the last couple of days I've been working frantically, without her knowledge, at readying a journal. These photos are of what I've done with a 'Paris' journal for her. The one spread with the orange floral background & two of my 'papermonzsters' are of Kate & her daughter Skyla. In the spread Skyla is pointing at her silly mommom monster. Sky will be three years old this June 17th. She calls 'monsters', 'monners'. lol Therefore, I just had to use the caption 'Monners, monners, everywhere!' in this spread for Kate.
