The final calendar journal for 2008

Well, here is my final contribution to our 2008 calendar journal
round robin. This year's CJ RR has gone by amazingly fast;
I can't believe we've already reached the end of our art
journaling journey! This time around I worked in
Lizbeth's journal. Above are the pages I created.

More calendargirlz round robin work....

Here are my latest contributions to the "Calendargirlz" round robin.
This month I worked in Patty's "Inuit Art" calendar journal. I have been looking
forward to seeing this particular CJ. I kept to the theme of the journal
as much as I could since I really love the artwork of the Inuit people.

This is what I created in the latest calendar I received.
It's Jo's "Around The World" calendar.
Of course, right away I began singing the
theme song to the movie "Around The World in 80 Days".
So, that's the idea I went with for the spread.

I'm enjoying 6 days off work, so I've been playing away the time in my art room. I've been working in the latest calendar journal from our Calendargirlz round robin. This time it's Suzanne's "Salut!" CJ. These are the pages I've created in her journal.

Now that I have finished working Marilyn's "Shoe" calendar journal, here are the spreads I've created in it:
From top to bottom:
1) I altered these pages to mirror the song by "Garbage" titled "Only Happy When It Rains".
2) A spread about preferences in footwear, gardening & Mother Nature.
3) I played around with the lyrics to the old Beatles song "I Saw Her Standing There", adding some humor to go along with the shoe theme.
4) This spread holds a photo of my one cat "Meesha". I have nicknamed her "Meesha Moo Shoes" since she was a wee kitten. I felt that adding her
picture to Marilyn's Shoe CJ was
pretty appropriate! lol
5) The bottom spread is actually
Terry's altered page on the left, and I
went with the same theme as she did
for my first page, on the right. I had
loads of fun playing in Marilyn's
journal!

Another weekend off work, and I am doing what I love best. Playing in art journals! Above are my final two spreads in Lisa's calendar journal. This has been a whole lot of fun, creating in Lisa's journal and I can't wait until the next CJ arrives to play in!

Having this weekend off work, I've carried on working in Lisa's calendar journal. Abovie are my next two spreads, all based on songs "Miss Chatelaine" by K. D. Lang, "Singin' In the Rain" by Gene Kelly, and "Blue on Blue" by Bobby Vinton. I got my idea for the "Miss Chatelaine spread from "Chatelaine Magazine" that's published here in Canada. It's the 80th anniversary for the magazine this year.

SPRING IS IN THE AIR!

Spring has arrived here in Southern Ontario. The
temperatures have reached the low 60s and all of the snow
has finally melted away. Right now I have Lisa's calendar journal
and I have created a spread in it celebrating the arrival of spring!

Hearts for Karen....

Here are my last two spreads in Karen's calendar journal.
Karen loves hearts, so I just had to create spreads
with heart themes for her.

Earth Hour

This is my latest spread in Karen's calendar journal.
I've honored Earth Hour. To do my bit for Earth
Hour, I turned off everything in the house and
went for a long walk with my rottweiler Sophia.
On our walk I came up with ideas for this spread,
then went to work on it when we got home.

Today I received Karen BPs calendar journal.
So I got to work on it right away this evening. Here

Wow, has it ever been a while since I last posted some artwork on my blog! I've been working so much that I haven't had time to play. But this weekend I finally had some time off work to do just that, play! I haven't been 100% certain of my choice of engagement calendar that I picked to use for the upcoming 2008 calendar journal round robin. So, yesterday I returned the one that I had originally bought in exchange for a ledger style journal. Karen BP used a ledger style journal for the 2007 RR and it was undeniably incredible. Well, when I got home with my new journal, I immediately got to work on it. Above is what I completed. Now it is all set to be mailed off for the brand new 2008 RR! I am thoroughly looking forward to another year of calendar journaling!
